I was reading an article in Child care magazine yesterday about the new arrangements for inspections.

Under the Q & A bit it said

"Will I need to have another inspection now that Prospects and Tribal are conducting inspections for Ofsted?"

Answer - "No, you will only be inspected once in the current inspection cycle, that is between September 2008 and August 2012,unless your provision is "inadequate" and a follow-up visit is required."

Why would we need another inspection. We won't notice any difference in the way we are inspected under the new arrangements. The Ofsted Inspections of schools have been conducted by private companies for years and I don't suppose anybody realised. I don't understand the fuss that seems to be being made over the changes i wish we hadn't been told.

I was just posting the inspection cycle dates - I didn't know when the cycle finished............... I'm not even sure I knew there was a cycle

I only included the Q & A so it was in context of the article.

I didn't know anything about a 'cycle' I just thought you got inspected every 3yrs or sooner if they had any concerns.......but then I suppose that is the cycle!

We have been told that our inspections will be carried out by Tribal as we are in the south west.

My 3 years were up in May and I haven't heard anything yet.

I think they are running behind in some areas.

My local friend has just had an inspection after 4 years of waiting (she got good last and this time).

Yet another friend who was outstanding in the next town was done 6 months early

We will just have to be patient :D
