I thought I would share my list of things I use to show I am reflecting on my practice. I can't believe how many there is but if anyone wants to add to it or suggest any other methods / tools for reflecting please do.

NCMA's being self reflective http://www.*************/pdf/being_reflective.pdf

I keep a relfective journal about things which happen - good and bad

I use the EQISP Document http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/123129

I have various audits which I regaulalry use (see free downloads on here)

I keep and use all my local authority newsletters and information documents.

I reflect using the 20 questions fopr childcare providers http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/Ofsted-home/Leading-to-excellence/Twenty-questions-for-early-years-and-childcare-providers/(language)/eng-GB

I have completed a SEF online

I am registered to recieve OFSTED news and print off / keep the ones most relevant.

As an accredited childminder I am required to keep a reflective journal which links to the required standards set by the children come first network.

I use the document Learning, Playing and Interacting http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/242798

I have purchased the publications ECCERS and FICCRS which I use to evaluate my setting.

I take full advantage of keeping up to date with current practice and reflecting on my own practice using the most fantastic and best website in the whole world childmindinghelp.co.uk forum :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

FCCERS - FAMILY CHILD CARE ENVIRONMENTAL RATING SCALE. ISBN 978-0-8077-4725-4

It has opened my eyes to thinbgs above and beyound what Ofsted expect and it keeps me on my toes. I have not been inspected / evaluated on it by my local authority, I have purchased it purley as an evaluation tool.

For example: Section 17 - Art. An inadequate score would be that there is no appropriate art materials provided. An excellent score would be to have atleast 3 different drawing materials available for use with toddlers weekly.

It certainly makes you think and I it's well worth the £16.22 from Amazon.
