Do we always have to do the 12 hour course or is 6 hours OK for a refresher? Mine runs out next month and our local authority don't weem to be putting any on for childminders any time soon. All the 12 hour ones I can find - including the ones which are set by the LEA - are weekday courses and as I'minconveniencing all the parents with my uni course I just can't shut down for this too. But I have found a weekend course which is 6 hours - would that do, do you think, until I can get on a 12 hour one?

I've been trying for 2 months or more to find a course! The local authority has been updating its system :rolleyes: and have been telling me to check back in a few weeks for ages. Ah well, the search goes on

Contact the council and tell them you need a course or Ofsted will de register you!

If I cannot get a course I go to the council and ask for funding and book it all myself.

Have you spoken to your Dev Worker as there will be others like you in the same boat?
