Does anyone know how in depth Care Commision like you to go with First Aid. Theres a 1 day course(£50) coming up in my area and then theres a 3 week course(£175) 6hrs a week which goes into everything. :)

My understanding is that this is still not a requirement in Scotland and you will not be marked down by your CC Officer at your inspection if you do not have a first aid certificate.

It is, however, best practice to keep your first aid knowledge updated every 3 years.

I would suggest a paediatric first aid course ... why not ask your CC Officer for advice? :D

up here everybody just does the 1 day course and cc are happy with that level of training.

thanks everyone, my scma officer emailed me back and the recommendation is to do a 12hr child carers first aid course which runs over 2 days. Just contacted the British Red Cross as they run alot of courses so fingers crossed :)
