Hi all, need some advice. I look after a 4 year old and his little brother, the younger one is all rough and tumble and loves running around playing, the 4 year old however will play for a short time but then just wants to sit on my lap or be right next to me and if I move to join in with the others or to prepare lunch or even go to the toilet he starts crying! If i ask him to do something, he starts crying, if its not his turn,he starts crying, absolutely anything.
I have been giving huge amounts of praise for everything he does by himself or when he joins in with the others. I'm trying my best to raise his self-esteem but dont seem to be getting very far. Any advise please?:(

What is he like at his other setting?

Is he the same at home? is he an only child?
