Hi do OFSTED always do a pre registration visit? A local childminder that has just registered told me that she didn't have a pre reg visit...what is the norm?? Also are they looking for you to be fully set up with policies etc and toys and everything set up as though you are working if they do a pre reg visit? Thank you

I believe Ofsted will always do a pre registration visit as its during this time that they ask you questions about he EYFS, your knowledge, etc to ensure that you know what you are doing, and to assess the size of your home so that they can determine how many children you can look after as some houses/flats/etc are not always big enought to be able to have the maximum of 6 under 8.

Hope that helps a bit.
