I got a phone call on thursday form Ofsted asking me how many Early Years children I had and if I was working full time or part time. They then said Ofsted will call again in the next few weeks to arrange a visit :panic:
Is this it?
Does that mean they could call me tomorrow and say they're coming right now?

How long do you think I've got?

Terrified!
They said 6 months in the first plae but it's only been 4!

Also, is it true that you can only get as high as good for your first inspection?

I sent my forms with health forms and refs included and was called to arrange the visit 3 days later!! the visit will be less that 3 weeks from sending my original application form in!!!!!

we are decorating anyway, but just hurrying it up a bit now!!

the lady was very nice and said it did not matter that we were decorating as they can see beyond that and it is about the person and the setting that I am planning to provide and safety etc that are the main things.

I hope she is as nice on the day

can't wait!!! I feel like I am back at school again revising for exams! :-)

I got a phone call from Mrs O about a week after Ofsteds phone call, Mrs O then arranged to come out 4 weeks later, she told me the week and asked me to choose 3 possible days and then she would turn up on one of those days but couldn`t tell me which one it would be.. Because Ofsted have made a few changes (you should have received an update from them) , new cm are now having first inspections between 4-6 months.
My first inspection was on the 15th July and I have only been minding since March but Mrs O was lovely and I got a `Good`, so was very happy. I have heard of CMs who have received `outstanding` for their first inspection so no its not true you can only get a high as `Good`.
My advice to you would be dont panic, just make sure that you have things in order and just remember that Ofsted inspectors are only human

If you need any help or advice hun just pm me xxxxx
