Hi, a friend is having her 2nd inspection since EYFS came in - so be warned you may not get a 3 year gap, hers was less than 2 years ago.

Anyway I suggested she looked up other people's inspection reports on the Ofsted website to find out what things are "hot" topics at the moment and to see if she could find an inspection done by the inspector coming next week - this is what I did last year - anyway when I looked at the website myself you can't look up childminders in your area just by postcode anymore, you need the Early years reg number - I know sometimes you could work out who the report was about before by the description of the style house, or what pets etc - but now the only person I can look up is ME! - any suggestions?

Does putting the name of the inspector in the search engine work?

Scrap that thought because it doesn't work!

See what you mean you don't seem to be able to get recent reports up anymore. Hope someone comes along with information to help

I have been able to do it- there are 2 search bars, you need the bottom one-'search for childminders in your area' or something along those lines, then you put in a postcode and search radius and it brings up a list of reg numbers. You won't know who is who but you can still read the reports. So if you put in your own postcode, yours will be the reg number at the top of the list, next will be the childminder in the next road perhaps, and so on.

Thanks for replies - I'll have another look at Ofsted website and see if I can get into the reports - my friend has been "picked on" again so soon for an inspection because she had a complaint made against her (proved to be unfounded - sour grapes by parents who didn't want to pay notice period), so has already had an unannouced doorstep visit by Ofsted regarding complaint, also had asked for a variation - so computer flagged up her name and she was put on top of list.

I need to ask for a temporary variation due to part time settling into school 4 years old in Sept - but too terrified to write at the moment.

Thanks again for replies x
