I just say Registered Childminder but i'm open to suggestions of something more fancy.
I always say Registered because it stops people calling me a babysitter.

I provide personalised home from home childcare, so I suppose I could be a home childcarer?

Childminders, if we weren't called Childminders then parents wouldn't know what we actually are.

Was speaking to a salesperson on the phone today and he asked what my occupation was and I said at first "Self-employed" and then he asked "Doing what?" and I said "I'm a CM" and he said "Great, so you own your own nursery then?"

We were asked this by the EY team last week. They have put in a new 'system' of three tiered childminders with network minders at the top, every one else in the middle and newly registered minders at the bottom for a year after they register.
They want a 'name' for the minders in the middle.... no-one had any ideas haha....
