Ofsted just phoned about my inspection, i explained im on holiday for 2 weeks from next mon, so she said it will have to be done the week i get back, shes going to phone on mon, my 1st day back working to arrange what day that week she can come!

I feel so sick, iv only done about 6 questions on the SEF cos they all need such long answers, this has completly ruined my holiday cos i'll not be able to stop thinking about it!

Sorry for the moan, just really needed it! :(

Oh hun...it's gonna be fine :-) First of all, regarding the SEF - it doesn't have to be completed at your inspection, Ofsted will understand if it's not been done. Just explain that you're in the middle of it, that it's 'work in motion' if you like, and it really won't be a problem. I hadn't even started working on mine when I had my inspection and I got graded Good! I would say, just have your normal every day paperwork up to date before you go away, and organised, then go and have a bloomin' great relaxing holiday. It will be fine, honestly. And you never know, they may even cancel the inspection - they cancelled me THREE times - I was a nervous wreck by the time they finally arrived!

Dont worry about it on your holiday. Give her what you have done for your SEF and dont worry about it, after all its not a requirement.

Chill and have a fab holiday

Oh hun that's seriously unfair timing :(

Please don't let it spoil your holiday though, we work so hard we deserve a break :)

Get as much organised as you can before you go then you won't be stressing about getting it all done when you get back

And remember your good at your job, the parents chose you, the children are happy and everything is fine :D

Oh and i forgot to add that my LA lady was supposed to be coming to see me last week to check i was on the right lines before my inspection and canceled, she said she would call to re arrange and over a week later i havnt heard anything!

not a surprise seen as they canceled on me 3 times before my pre reg inspection and never made it at all!

That’s really tough :( and I sympathize as I got myself into a real tizzy before my last inspection. We all want to show the inspector the very best of ourselves and I can understand just getting back from your hols things may not be as organised as you would wish, but a good inspector will see through a bit of post holiday chaos ;) This week (before you start packing) go through all your paperwork, hand your parents a questionnaire, look at your planning in particular next steps (making sure you follow up on them and your planning shows this-add bits if necessary because what we know in our heads doesn’t always reflect on paper and ofsted look for evidence all the time). Do bits at a time and on Friday put it all away and forget it- once its out of sight DO NOT think about work again until you get back :) Its not necessary to plan anything complicated for ofsted, just your normal activities and maybe something that the children have not done/seen for a while (usually helps them settle if they get funny about having a visitor there).
Have a lovely holiday :)
and good luck with ofsted
