I had my call on Friday, a rather serious sounding Mrs O is coming one day this next week, she wouldn't tell me which day despite me saying we have activities each day that I take the LOs too after we've done the school run. Basically we have to go home and stay in until 10am, and if she hasn't arrived by then we can go out!!
Anyway, my question is this....I have read that it is better if you have all your paperwork out ready for Mrs O to look at. I assume this means the learning journeys, contracts, daily dairies, risk assessments, policies & procedures, and planning file? Is there anything else she would need to see? And do I get all of this out and put it on my dining table each day on the chance she might come? Will this not be breaking all the possible 'confidentiality laws'?!
I hope that this makes sense, I'm a little panicked about it all.
Thanks!

I did not know what day either so what I did was placed it all in a box that sat under my dining table so out of the way but easy to grab. At night I took it to bed with me (lol yes how sad but it was safe).
I had a sample parent pack, my portfolio, childrens folders with contracts accident forms etc, learning journals, evidence of training - I have a training log in a pollypocket. Fire drill practices, risk assessments and a Things to do folder.
Mrs O liked my things to do folder, it showed that I knew I had things that needed doing, listed futher training and a rough date I wished to do the training by. It had rough notes of possible ideas for the following months activities and a copy of my SEF with post-its all over it stating where I need to update/change etc.
I would not set it all out taking up the dining table just incase she does not appear.

I stuffed it all down the side of my sofa, lucky for me she came on the first day out of the 5 she expected to come.
Make sure you have planning available, anything from parents e.g. thanksyous and comments, anything you've made e.g. story sacks, activities, any training certificates, policies, a wish list of anything you intend to get e.g. multicultural dressing up clothes and props, accident records (all signed and dated by parents) risk assessments and it's always good to ask if parents waant to write down any comments for you to share with the inspector about their experience of using you as a childminder.
Hope it all goes well

i put all my non-confidential stuff out on the dining room table. The confid stuff was in the locked box....this was out too but locked. When she came i unlocked it for her. We played out in the garden and she just wandered in and out picking out the things she wanted to look at. It was very relaxed and i just made sure she has plenty of fliuds and was in the shade...bit like the kids really. She told me she had had a lovely day....nice and chilled with lots of laughing.
Great!
