I have two bedrooms upstairs but only one of them is actually registered as an area the children can use. I use it for sleepers mainly and usually only have one sleeper every day. The thing is for next week only I've got my two sleepers on the same day. I'm pretty sure if I put them both down in that room they'll wake each other up. They both cry when put down and getting them down and need to be left to settle themselves. but they don't know each other, aren't used to having the other child in the room and will both need to sleep over the same time period.
Do you think if a child were strapped into a buggy and just sleeping that I could put him in my unregistered room? It would be purely to sleep in peace and he is only just 1 so wouldn't be able to let himself out of the buggy when he wakes up. There is nothing of any danger in the room. Just that it has glass sliderobes which I wasn't prepared to ruin with safety film and he's not going to get at them from his buggy.
Would I need to notify ofsted? It's a one off
Thanks guys

LOL this is my problem. Have only two rooms downstairs also. The lounge, where the others will play and the kitchen where I'll need to be in and out of. Neither of them are heavy sleepers so the other kids will def keep them awake. Didn't think about sleeping side of it when I said yes to a Mum changing her usual day. Agh!:panic:

Mindee shouldn't go in unregistered room, but could you not put one in a buggy on the landing, and then when they are both asleep, wheel the buggy into the room with the other mindee.
I had this problem last year, in that I had a mindee in my arms whilst I put my DD to sleep in an unreigstered room. I decided thereafter that I would just ask OFsted to include it and when I had an inspection, the inspector ok-d it  .

You think they'd OK it even if I don't put that awful stuff all over my sliderobe glass mirrors? Maybe if I say they'll never play in there - just sleep. Hmm
I think I'm going to register my older dd's bedroom as well so I can put a travel cot in there if this situation crops up for me.
It is a difficult one - don't really know what to suggest!

I put all my children down for a sleep in the same room, sometimes they keep each other awake but usually they are fine.
I find that if i put one down then within 15mins they are asleep so i can put the other one down.
If i have one in a pushchair i tend to leave them in the corridor/landing until asleep and then wheel them into the bedroom.
Good luck with whatever you decide, maybe it is worth registering your other room for future use-like you say, stating that it is only for sleeping.

Thanks guys! Thing is they both scream when put down so to wait till one drops off then take the other in would defeat the object. The screamer would wake the sleeper. Plus one sleeps longer than the other. I think I'll keep one on the landing. Thanks for your help guys

If it's nice why not put one out in the garden in a pram?

Good idea!! As long as the little one is dressed appropriately for the weather then this sounds like the best solution.
