Had a Mum come to see me back in April about childcare for her little boy from September.

I wasn't looking for anymore children as I was as full as I wanted to be. Had a baby sibling starting in May who will be 10 months in September same as the other baby.

He was very cute, Mum wanted someone close to her house and her doctors (she lives in the next road) and somebody who has experience. He is also registered disabled. He has dwarfism.

I contacted Ofsted and they said there's no point putting in for a variation until August. This would be much too late so I thought I would put in a form saying I needed the variation from June and see what happens.

Had Ofsted visit me last week to see what impact his disability would have on the other children. I tried to tell her over the phone that it would not have any impact. He is developmentally normal just little. She still had to come out.

Anyway, they have said I can have it from June until he turns one at the end of October. I don't have any kids during the summer holidays so it will only be for 7/8 weeks.

Phoned Mum to let her know and she is really pleased, as am I.

well done, i got my variation today too :clapping: must be a good week!
i've been granted 4 in early years for upto 25 days per year, this helps with extra training days/emergencies so im really pleased with it.

Sorry, what kind of variation is this ? I'm intrigued as I think I am going to have a similar problem come Sept.

i requested a variation for children i already have on books, as they do part time i requested for 'continuity of care' that i be over my numbers to cover emergency care for training, etc. they did ask what job role the parents do? i have a nurse and a social worker so they do x amount of training out of contracted hours. if you need help pm me :)
