apart from bouncing off of the walls with joy - what now?????

The man at Ofsted said i would be getting my Outstanding pack soon, what is that a badge, baby wipes and a pack of nappies, should have asked i guess but i was so busy squealing down the phone i toally forgot

I knew at the innspection i got outstanding but it didnt sink it until report come through the post yesterday.

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED ive only been minding 14 months and had a really rough time of it with regards to other minders so now im am thrilled beyond words

Thankyou also to Sarah who helped e so much last year with my observations and she made me understand it. so thankyou

I didnt know what to expect on my first real inspection (they came out June last year and I reg Feb = got good) but this was the real one, i threw paper work an a coffee at her (well not literally) in aa heat proof cup thing and then i just got on with whatever i was doing, so asked questions here and there and then at the end she said how do you think you did i said not sure but i would have liked to have thought i got a good same as before.

She turned her screen around to show i got outstanding for every single section and over all i had to do a retake as i just couldnt beleive it, probably because i wasnt thinking i would keep good.

thrilled that i got outstanding but what now then? ive heard so many things about specialised logos and once outstnding they come out every year! HELP please xxxxx:jump for joy: :clapping:

Think I read you get a cd with the logo on to use on paperwork and advertising. I got outstanding on my first one on Thursday and as she was leaving she said the next one would prob be 3 years, but she did mention that with the changeover that could change - implied she had no idea if would, but just a maybe as until they're outsourced properly they won't be aware of the changes.

The pack you recieve contains a generic letter of congrautlations, a certificate and a cd with the outstanding logo's on which you are allowed to use on your paperwork.
At some point you will also be invited to an oustanding seminar i think.

I was graded outstanding back in march and my pack only arrived two weeks ago, so they are a bit slow at getting them posted out.

Congratulations on you grading

Congratulations to the others that have been graded the same, its an amazing feeling:clapping: :jump for joy: :clapping:

Did I read it right that you had your first inspection last year, if so how come you had another one this year?

I had my first grading inspection in March and the inspector told me it would be around 3 years when I have my next one?

Don't tell me they may come again next year

I second Sarah being very helpful. I have used her e-books, particularly the one on the SEF, I was commended on a very comprehensive SEF. Thanks Sarah!

You will also get invited to a celebration meal usually held around January each year. When I received my invitation they were all week days and miles and miles away so would have involved having a day off, sorting childcare out am and pm for my own children - so I did not go - did ring O and express my disappointment so heres hoping they offer a Saturday next year.

By the way well done. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Thats fantastic - i know how you feel i was bouncing off the walls too! Then you settle down and realise that you now have to maintain it - its even more terrifying - only joking:laughing:

Hope you did something to celebrate. By the way the pack is not very exciting. My local authority invited me to an awards ceremony for people achieveing all sorts of things which was quite nice - yours may do the same. I didn't go to the lunch with Ofsted - the timings are all funny and i didn't really see the point. Anyway - Well done again:clapping:

Very well done. It's a fantastic feeling to know you are doing so well but stressfull to think about maintaining it!
I am very proud to have been graded this twice and asked inspector if they had a Super Outstanding grade to aim for, lol, not trying to be a know it all, just wanting to aim higher each time, as we all do.
I know how you feel, just keep doing what you are doing and things will happen that you can show improvement on your already outstanding practice.
I haven't been able to go to the events so hopefully they will do one at the weekend soon, as I would have loved to celebrate my achievements with others.
This Forum has been a wealth of information and ideas which I am so greatful to everyone for sharing, it has been mentioned in my SEF,Healthy Early Years Setting Award, discussions with parents, childminding co-ordinators , other minders, and at college.
Well done again
