You can get a free 2 month family railcard which will give good discounts on railtravel from here (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/prmts/article-1269776/Pick-month-Family--Friends-Railcard-now.html). You can then get the full year discount for only £13 rather than £26

Thanks so much. I feel some trips to visit my mum coming on over the next few months/year. She has been diagnosed with alzheimers and I want to take the kids up for weekends but it is so expensive normally.
