i have my first graded inspection tomorrow, just finishing off some last minute planning!!!!!! any tips from anyone would be greatly received i get so nervous :panic: ive filled in my sef as best i can fingers crossed!! can i answer the door with my lo in my arms?? i only look after one and dont want to leave her on her own!!

Try not to panic! When asked a question think before answering and think about the 5 outcomes, staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and acheiving, economic well being and positive contribution. If you have difficulty remembering these think SHEEP - safe, healthy, enjoying.., economic..... and positive...... I always take the children with me to the door when Ofsted knock and after looking at ID introduce children to Mrs O.

I wish you lots of luck, I have mine on either Wednesday or Friday and am just as nervous. Lets hope they need to boost some figures or something and are feeling generous!!!

Don't do anything different to what you normally do - kids have a great habit of dropping you in it if you change things round :D
Check the inspector's ID, give her/him your paperwork and carry on as normal.

well the verdicts in................. i got good with aspects of outstanding!!!!! i cant believe it im so happy!! she said i definatley have the potential to be outstanding next time and would be disappointed if i wasnt!!!! :jump for joy: i hardly got any sleep last night worrying and there was nothing to worry about! its just like a normal day with someone taking notes n asking u a few questions!!

thanks to everyone on here for the advice, i havent met many childminders locally so u all have been my source of information and thank u to sarah and her wonderful e books!! i so happy and relieved!! :D
