no need to cry you will be fine, learning journals are a personal choice, there is no right or wrong way to do them providing you are doing them and remembering to link to next steps too, i was picked up on that grr lol as had done next steps for some obs but not for others! yep i am inconsistant but you will be fine and good luck to ya!

Hi :),
It'll be ok. On the day, just be yourself, on your best day :D. If there's anything you haven't done yet, write it down so that she can see its a development you're working on. Tell her how come you decided on your learning journey system, but be open to suggestions for fine tuning etc.
I don't have anthing like a learning journey set up, or obs written down, just things I see the children take an interest in, getting better at etc, 'Achievement charts' where I and the children write stuff we're pleased with that they've done, plus daily diary forms for the LO's with comments to parents about developments and interests which (luckily) parents have responded to. This was enough to get me a 'good', as i am still struggling trying to find a method of properly recording stuff. She could see I am working towards it and confident the children were progressing.
Just think: by the weekend, it'll be done and dusted and you don't need to worry about it for another 3 years. How great will that be?!

Wendy

thank you for your coments and support, it really means alot to me xx
anyway quick update.....or may turn into an essay!!! lol she called this morning to ask what time i get back from school run, i said around 10 past 9, she said she will be here around 9 and if im not here she would wait wait in car park for me
this made me panic so i got my friend to take my son to school so i could spend an extra 20 mins cleaning up from breakfast. well she didnt get here until 9.20 lol.
she showed me her id without me asking, but i did make a point of looking at it for maybe longer than necessary. just to make sure.lol
i locked her in and told her briefly what we do in case of an emergency ( she liked this!! )
VERY quick look around the house, wasnt even going to look outside untill i reminded her about the side gate, didnt say anything at all about the dog that was in the alley way at side of house.
i imagined she would open all the cupboards and go through my socks to see if they match. lol she didnt. haha.
no razors in bathroom but i dudnt move all the shampoo ect. she didnt comment on this.
i told her the cupboard locks had broken in the kitchen but there was nothing dangerous in there and the lock was still on the under the sink cupboard, she said this was fine.asked about sharps, i told her i keep them right at the back of draw but when i opened it a knife was smiling at me!!!! must have been eldest son  not sure if she noticed or not but didnt say
asked LOADS of questions, in between the kids demands and phone ringing of the hook!! she asked mainly about safequarding, complaints. was impressed i had new number!!!!!! and had printed off safequarding booklet from ncma site (thanks to who ever that was who told me x)
she didnt come with me when i changed lo nappy or put her to bed, i left ds 4 and minded child 3 and a half with her and she seemed fine about this,i did ask first.
asked if i had a monitor for when lo is asleep i sid no but i check on her reqular, fine with this
my son,4 was a nightmare! i set out saw dust, coloured pasta and rice as messy play that i planned to put outside, was too windy so had it in kitchen. BIG MISTAKE! lol. will be ceaning it all up for the next 3 yrs.
he then started to "smoke" the speghetti!!! saying, ive got a fag!
i could have cryed! but brushed it off as best i could.
the play dough went all over floor and maybe a bit even got thrown at the wall  then minded child, who i have only been looking after for 3 days started joining in, they argued a bit but also had really good moments of sharing and playing together.
i remembered to wash hands and table before snack and my own after wiping lo nose. think she saw me do this, she asked the kids questions about road safety, why we wash our hands and asked minded child if he is enjoying coming here. he said yes thank god!!
she went through all my paperwork and asked so many questions!!!! thought my head would burst.
was impressed with my SEF that i sent her and said it cut inspection time by about 2 hours!!! as she could see i was very busy with the children.
well she left at around 12ish so not tooo bad and i got graded............................................ .................................................. ................................GOOD!!!!!:clapping : (overall) with 2 reconmendtions. to do some courses, safequarding children and EYFS and to encourage sharing and good behaviour with new minded child and ds. but did say she would add in report that i have only been minding him for 3 days
she said i had done really well and to get a "good" at first inspection is a great atchievment and i should be proud of myself :littleangel:
and now i can relax and hopefully get some sleep tonight :clapping:
