HELP - Im trying to fill out this booklet thing but its sooooo indebth its taking me ages and ages, so many sub questions that i seem to filling a whole extra sheet of a4 - is this normal??

also so many of the questions seem irrelevent to me as i only have 1 other child at the more in addition to my own who is very behind developmentally so he rarely joins in with any activities or shows enthusiasim for anything other then his led activities - is it ok to leave some questions blank??

It all just seems like a load of waffle! - what are others thought on this form??

It's a form to talk about your evaluation of your practice.

So try and step aside from the child for a moment and focus on what you do, how you organise things... all the good practice you use to support your business.

Ofsted believes that every section of the SEF is valid for your practice, so you do really need to fill it all in.

I'd suggest putting your thoughts down maybe in list form then getting on the computer and typing it up before putting it on the Ofsted system.

Then you need to consider how you will improve yourself... all based around you! So you will use this book or that website or this course or that information to benefit the child.

hth :D

It is very daunting the new SEF. It does go on but well worth doing. I was pulling my hair out last week but submitted it and glad I spent the laborious hours filling it in.
Keep on with it, remember its your chance to show to OFSTED how you work and reflect on your pracitce and sell yourself
Good Luck

Defo buy Sarah's E-book.

I couldn't have done my SEF without her help.
At my inspection, Mrs 'O' said it was the most comprehensive SEF she had ever seen.
