Has anyone heard of a new form that we now need to complete to inform Ofsted if we have rising 5's in a reception class?

I've not seen it yet but I know that my early years support worker/Network co-ordinator rang me yesterday to see if I'd received a copy of it from Ofsted.

Anyone else heard of this????????????

I'm wondering if it is something to do with certificate wording. When I rang and asked about rising 5's I was told everything was ok and my certificate did not need amending. Pauline recently posted about a factsheet from Ofsted Numbers & ages of children - this factsheet clearly states that you need to inform ofsted and have certificate amended.

Thank you I just found it having trawled through the ofsted website - thank you - gosh I do wish they would make their minds up - they are truely dangerous - they have no idea about childminders do they - they seem to do everything in their power to ensure we are constantly breaking the law. I wish when they change something as fundamental as this they would inform us - this wasn't the case when someone from here went directlyt to them a few months ago to ask for confirmation on rising 5's.

This is the link I found is it the same as yours - I didn't find a form to complete yet but if all else fails I will get a link from my early years co-ordinator when I get the new form from her on Monday.

Thanks for that Christine, I must have missed that post.

I'm sure I saved a copy of an email someone on here had received from Ofsted saying that you didn't need to get your certificate changed

I rang them last summer and they told me I didn't need my certificate changing! As it turned out I didn't need to count my rising 5 as a 5 year old but will need to get in touch with them about two children who will be starting school in ~September!

I am confused, not that it takes much, I had a new certificate middle of March and there was nothing on that. I have looked at the link on OFSTED and I look after a 4 year old, 5 at the end of April sometimes in the school holidays, I only have 2 under 3's so do I have to do anything about it, he will only be in the EYFS until the 31st August this year (is that bit right?), can someone help me please:( :(
