Hi Kimberley

The numbers shown on your certificate are the numbers of minded children you can care for, they have already taken into account your own children when deciding these numbers.

Does that help? :)

I will also move your post to minding chat as you will get more replies there :)

Your 5 year old is still in the early years age group (until 31 August following his 5th birthday - that will be August 2010 if I've read your post right) which is why your certificate also says "when caring for 4 or 5 yo who are in full-time education....................." you can increase your numbers.

So you are right and so is your certificate!

Hope that makes sense

In total you can't have more than 6 children under 8 years old including your own.

You have 2 children (3 yo and 5 yo) of your own.

That's why your certificate says may care for 4.........

Because your 5 yo is at school full-time you can count him in the 5 to 8 yos and your 3 yo is in your under 5's which leaves you 2 spaces for under 5's and 2 for over 5's.

I think that's what you said too! :D
