Hello everyone,
I moved house last friday, 26th, never again im bushed:(
I asked ofsted about 4 weeks ago, what is required to do when moving house,
I didnt give my reg number as i was working and snuck a phone call to them, whilst children were busy! the lady said, an officer shouldn't need to come out and look...i said....basically just a risk assessment then? YES, she said...ok thank you...and put the phone down.

So today i ring and tell ofsted that i have now moved in at the weekend.
I learn i need to fill in a variation form ( risk assessment basically)
AND CANT START WORK UNTILL MY NEW REG CERT IS THROUGH:eek:
OMG im so cross, my parents have all booked a week off with me( i need to get new house sorted) but need me back working next week.
This form takes anything from 2-6 weeks to go through!!! apparently!!!
What an earth am i going to do???
Why do i always get snotty ofsted people when i ring?

This happened to me too in October, I phoned Ofsted when we put our house on the market to see what the procedure was regarding moving, they said to ring them back once I had a moving date .

I received my moving date, which was in a weeks time, so I telephoned Ofsted and was told that I would only need to fill in a risk assessment form, which I did and emailed to them immediately.

I had booked a week off with my parents and was telephoning Ofsted constantly to ensure they had received my risk assessment and also to check if I could continue minding from my new property, I was outraged to hear that I could not childmind until they had sent an inspector out which took 3 weeks  (the ofsted inspector lives in my town).

When she arrive she said she did not know why they had not contacted her sooner as she could of been out within a day or two, I was then worried I would now have to wait for my new cert before I could start looking after the kids again and there was a post strike luckily we have a good understanding inspector and she said I could start right away:jump for joy:

I think Ofsted need to adjust there policy on moving house, I cant believe they expect childminders just to stop working, what are the parents supposed to do..........

Hi Paulines, thanks for replying!
I totally agree, their moving house proceedure is in my view, not good for the children, as they need to get back into their routine as quikly as possible.
I have just filled in, and drawn in great detail, the layout of my new house. i have marked it urgent, so hopefully it wont take long. but i wont hold my breath.
If i need to take another week of work, because i cannot work due to red tape, my parents and children will suffer!!!!
I'm a hard working minder, who dosn't take time off easily, so not to let my children and parents down. but my hands are tied. all for a change of address on a piece of paper.
We too exchanged contracts and completed within the week, and like you was told i just needed to do a risk assessment.
Well its gone now ( 15 minutes ago) so fingers crossed!!!(im sat in a wifi cafe, because my phone line is not conected yet at home, 2 weeks apparently) STRESS!!!!
Shall i tell my parents??
I can see i will be drinking copious amounts of coke in the next 2 weeks, so that i can use their wifi!!!

I told Ofsted we were moving and gave it about 6 weeks to get sorted. Had a month off over summer as had term time mindee and told them when I needed to be ready again.

Sent RA for new house and heard no more. When time got close and after many phone calls, they said they had not got RA and to send again, then next day they phoned to say they had found it 'under a pile of paperwork on someones desk'

No visit as RA was good, been minding 15 years too, then certificate arrived with a few days to spare:rolleyes:

Hopeless was my view of them!

Sorry to hear this:(

I have moved 4 times in my 6 years of childminding!

Most recently only 6 weeks ago (to another area, hubby RAF)

Ofsted have always been really great, this time they emailed me the form, which tbh IMO was a bit vague for info, so I gave a really detailed RA of the house, floor plan and fire drill:) I got my new certificate back within 2 weeks. I did say I needed it earlier than I did though, to try and speed things up lol.

Ofsted have never come out to see the new house layout on any of my moves.

Have lost 3 days...no too bad, and didn't get the snotty man again. infact the last 2 men i spoke to were very helpfull, and i told them so!!!
Get the children back today and cant wait!!!
Thought we could all go to soft play today for some fun, after they have explored the new house and garden.:clapping:
