Another childminder has asked me this. I said i didn't know the answer, but knew where to ask
The inspection report is split into different areas, if you got a mix of satisfactories & goods, can you get a good grading overall or do you have to get good in every area?
I think what she's getting at is, if she was to get satisfactory in any area, will that mean she can only get satisfactory overall?

Not sure know, but your overall grade i think used to be what you got the majority of.

My inspector told me it depended on which areas you got the lower grade for. Some carry more weight than others and so for example for safeguarding you got Satisfactory then you couldn't get Good overall.

thats how i understood it minstrel. A local minder got good in partnership with other settings and all other areas outstanding - outstanding overall.

Under the old system you used to have to get outstanding in all 5 areas to get outstanding overall but I've seen recent reports with a few goods and the rest outstanding that are graded outstanding overall - think that's fairer.
