hi there

i have been a childminder for a few years now i have had an inspection 2 years ago but it was in my old house i moved her and have my certificate for her but i want to take on an assistant

do you think ofsted would need to come out and do an inspection??
my assistant is going to be my daughters pre school teacher who just left there as she hated the manager!! i hate her too as she dont like the fact i am a childminder.

i am hoping they wont need to come out but got a feeling they will

need some advice.

I don't think that getting her as an assistant will prompt your inspection but when you ask for a change in numbers it might due to the fact that you could be due an inspection and that they haven't seen the new house

They have no rights to see your income figures and challenge anyone that asks.

I always thought that if you moved, Ofsted have to come out and inspect your new house??

I am not sure about the assistant though. I would contact Ofsted and see what they say.

In relation to the income, Ofsted will not ask to look at them as it is not their business to.

I work for a childminder as an assistant and Ofsted haven't come out - we've got the new certificate with the increased numbers on.

I know a childminder who has been in a new house for 3 years and they haven't been out to her either.

I personally don't think they will come out but you never know.

Linda.
