I have just about recovered from my pre-reg visit on Friday and am thinking about all the things I have to do.

I have a cupboard under the stairs, there's no pipe work in there and no electric but I need a lock on the door because I keep my hoover in there.

Do Ofsted not like electrical items in cupboards - are they considered a hazard because of the cable and the possibility of choking?

I don't really want to lock my cupboard, so I will just relocate the hoover. Does everyone else lock their hoover away?

Thanks,
Linda.

I don't lock my hoover away no!

Maybe it was the cupboard she doesn't want children using as a den if there's a hoover in there?

I'd just put a little lock on it and move on! :D

i have my hoover in a cupboard and i have a hook and eye catch on the door above children's height, i don't think it's the hoover as op said it's more the cupboard and safety of children hiding inside, etc. i store my toys in the cupboard too so children can access it with my supervision :)

I really don't want to have locks on it. It has 2 doors and both doors are small and at a child's level. I really wanted to put hooks on the back of the door so children had their own coat pegs (our coat cupboard is full to bursting). If I take the hoover out, will it be OK or do you think I should phone Ofsted. It does make a good den, but I'm sure I could fill it with toy boxes so that little ones couldn't actually fit in.

Thanks,
Linda.
