Just thought i'd let anyone who is soon to have their first visit from Ofsted that mine was fine!
I had my visit today and the lady from Ofsted was so nice and put me at ease straight away. I had been so nervous all week trying to get everything ready to show her and to be honest she had a quick look round and asked me what I had or would do to keep children safe in each room. Then we had a cuppa sat down and she just asked me loads of questions from her laptop which was more like having a chat than an interogation (which is what i expected!). I asked loads of questions too which she liked, and also took notes which she seemed impressed with! So anyone who is totoally panicking i hope your inspector is as nice as mine was x

Well done - mine was the same, I think they are really nice to you in the first one as they don't want you to change your mind! Mind you my inspector in my full ofsted was really nice too - I haven't had one since EYFS has come in and I'm told they are much tougher now, don't know if that's true!

I've got mine on Friday, so glad they are OK and quite friendly. How much EYFS did she expect you to know?
Linda.

Had my pre-reg visit on monday and it went really well. Lady was very nice and very helpfull. Left us with lots of ideas. We were really stress and then she also arrived 30 min early.
Anyone still waiting for they visit make sure you fill in the Book ( Preparing for youre visit). Will help allot and do ask her questions. They are very happy to help.
First question was about EYFS. I answer in detail how I understand it and how I will bring it into practise everyday. She was happy with answer and did'nt ask anything more about EYFS.
When she finally left after 3 hours she actually said 'she hope that she will come back for inspection in 7 months.'
We had our boys at home as well and they were so good:) Think it helps if they can see you in action with your'e own children.
I would also recommend Sarah's e-books. Thanks for doing all the hard work Sarah...
Good luck to everyone still waiting for visit:clapping:
Remember you can only do so much.

On the first visit they do not expect you to know everything about EYFS. Its good to know about the different registers, the ratio, six areas of L&D and four themes.
You can tell them that you don't fully understand all of it yet. My inspector said we will get the hand of it the more we do it.
Every inspector is different so you can never tell what the next one will ask. Fill in the pre reg book and you will be okay.
My Question from her was.
What do you understand about the EYFS.
Good luck..:)
