I just wondered if any of yo uknow how long ofsted have been inspecting childminders. I know it used to be social service. I live in Cyprus and there is a lady advertising childcare. Her advert states she was an Ofsted registered childminder for 9 years prior to moving to cyprus 5 years ago!!??

she probably means that she was a registered childminder - sometimes people put Ofsted in as a habit. So she probably meant she was a registered childminder for say 2 years with ss and then ofsted registered for the rest?

So it's easier to say Ofsted registered.

We have another childminder in Cyprus who is a member!

We moved to Cyprus is 2001 and I was still registered with social services, when we returned in 2004 I became registered with Ofsted. Hope all is well, send my love tot the girls
