Hello! fab forum!

I'm hoping someone here might be able to advise me. I'm looking into the possibility of becoming a childminder. The only thing is I'm not keen to have pre school age children, not because I dont like them!! It would just suit me and my family much better to help look after older children.
Am I right in thinking that I can do this in part by registering on the voluntary part of the Ofsted register? Rather than doing the early years register? and the full registration? My understanding is that the voluntary part of the register is for children aged 8 to 18.

Thank you in advance for any advice,

Lou

Yes that's right you can. It does cost quite a bit more than Early Years Registration though - £103

Here is the link to the fees:

WOW that was super fast!!!!! thanks for your replies!!:)

I've been looking through the Ofsted website, so much info on there. I thought if someone here had done the same they might explain it in simple terms! :o I'll have a read again and try to make some notes about what I need to do.

Many thanks

Lou
