Well it made my day, never mind the kids! They called at about 1pm asking if it was ok to come about 4. I had recently filled in a form which means they come and give you free smoke alarms, test existing ones and generally give advice. The kids were so excited when i collected them from school!
They checked out the playroom which was my main concern as it only has one emergency exit but they said it was fine cause they were not left alone and that i had an extinguisher and fire blanket plainly visable. they also checked out the house, asked me what i would do if we were trapped upstairs etc, but they seemed impressed when i recited on about my action plan etc. They asked the children what they were to do if there was a fire and they were extreamly impressed when they recited out emergency procedure to them. I was a very proud minder!:D :D :D

The fireman took a photo of me and the kids infront of the fire engine, just enhansed it and the firefighter in the passenger seat is pulling a silly face! Charming!!!! No Miffy they dont come out again. The smoke alarm they fitted upstairs for me has a ten year lithium battery, so dont need to replace it! Well worth ringing up your local station and requesting a visit! They gave each of the kids a card to for the parents to fill in so that they can have a safety check to!
