feel like i am very slowly getting somewhere with my paperwork , am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with planning , obs , policys , ra's ..which is a good job really as ofsted are imminent!!!

So i have individual files with obs , next steps etc.

planning file with medium and short term and individual plans )

staying safe file with risk assessments

policies and procedures file.

about our setting leaflet.

setting abc - photobook to show new parents ,and use it with children for reflection etc.

what else? do you all have a setting portfolio? what do you put in it? what would light mrs o's fire!!???
I so want to do well!! I work my bum off to do fun things with the children and help them develop and am worried my paperwork wont reflect this and will let me down :(

Hi sounds like you are on the right track.

The ofsted inspector really liked my opperational plan. One lever arch file sectioned into My profie, schedules daily and weekly, policies, my certificates, risk assessments, child protection information, insurances - (childminders, car, & M.O.T), Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and Passport.

She went through it then said 'well that was easy, to have everything in one place'.

Everybody has different systems, but i thought listing mine would give you some ideas.

Good Luck

My portfolio follows the every child matters agenda and like Dawn says it keeps everything in one place.

It's not that hard to put together, just a bit time consuming to start with but once it's running, it's easy to maintain.

I changed it recently to work like an audit and to help me think about how to improve all the time - like self reflection.

Hth :D

yet another brilliant idea Sarah, incorporating 'reflective practitioner'.
