I was registered at the end of Oct, is it usually about 5 months? Just wondered if it could be less and had a slight panic! How long did everyone get before their 1st inspection?

It's a small world

Usually about 6 months from reg..However mine would have been boxing day and they came 12 Jan apparently they have a certain number of days that they need to be out by I worked out that it would be just short of 7 months..but Mrs O told me that they need to do inspection and complete report before this deadline. So I think about April for you May at the latest.

Did they say why they came out so soon? That's what I'm worried about as it's for me that would be next month, and it's not really enough time to get up and running properly!

Hi,

My inspector told me that they are supposed to complete your first inspection within 6 months from when you first register. I registered at the end of August and I had my first inspection 2 weeks ago, so it was about 4.5 - 5 months for me.

I would be prepared for it to be any time, and don't wait until you get the call to get your paperwork in order like I did ! I'm sure you'll be just fine :-)

No she didn't say, just said that they had targets to meet. I did feel that it would have been nicer if they had waited a couple more months since I didn't get my first mindee till mid Oct so I still feel like I am just getting into it and chopping and changing the way I do things. I panicked about doing my SEF once she had called and told her that but thankfully I did get it done in time. Otherwise all my other paperwork was in place. She was very impressed with all my P&P's and RA's. I always work every day as though Ofsted could call as you just never know do you.
Good luck. Hopefully you'll have a bit more time yet.
