Hi well Mrs O has finally left after 3 hours it was just awful. I got good overall which I am really pleased with just not happy on some of the things she went on about.
I only got satisfactory on partnership with another setting as the lo doesn't go to nursery even though I told her what I used to do when I did have one at nursery.
I got told off because the lo mum doesn't write in the daily diary but that is not my fault and I explained that we always talk when she picks her up.
Basically all she was interested in was paperwork and not much else.
Just glad it is over and done with for another 3 years.

If you have a look about "what to look for on an inspection" on the Ofsted website you will see that it is all about paperwork
If you feel that you have been mis read or understood you do have the right of appeal and another inspector can come out. I cannot see how they can judge you on "what might happen" even though you had it in place. I don't do diaries at all, just natter and the door morning and night so not sure what she would of made of me.
Well done on your grade, it is absolutely fantastic.

If you feel it's wrong Lorraine, you can appeal the decision / comments she is going to make.
It does sound unfair to mark you down because you don't do something at the moment!!
Well done for getting through it all! :clapping:

Shame didn't go so well but at least you had a good result overall. You can relax now!
Well done on your inspection:clapping:

That doesn't seem fair at all! Hpw can you get graded satisfactory for Parnership just because your lo doesn't go to nursery!! That's ridiculous, how is that your fault that you can#t prove waht you would do? I had 2 under 5 on my inspection and neither went to another setting so I couldn't work with other settings and inspector only asked what I would do in the situation.
Seems so wrong.
Daily diary - some minders don't even use them and still get outstandings and goods - seems like you got a funny inspector.
Well done though, you got a GOOD! time to celebrate!!:clapping:

Well done with your grading ****Good***** is still brilliant. As others have said Mrs O was a bit mean giving a lower grade on something you can't do anything about
At least you can relax for a few years now and it might be worth appealing.
Reminds me, I've got to get in touch with my mindee's pre-school and get them to write in her learning journey book and I'll need to write in theirs.

When I got my report back, I was also a little unhappy about one section (thought I should have got higher grade) but on reflection, I let it drop. Overall I was happy.

well done you on your result! Good is fantastic!
I also think Mrs O was a bit harsh with you!
You've got me thinking now about the sharing info! I have 2 brothers after sch one day a week for 2 hours and I haven't contacted them about sharing info! I guess I should!
Will have a scour of the site to see what I need to do!

It seems very unfair that you were marked down on working in partnership when you don't have a lo at the nursery.
And you can't make parents comment in a daily diary. There's no requirement to do a daily diary anyway!
Wait until you get your report and if you feel it's unfair then challenge it.
Congratulations though - GOOD is still a great result!

Congrats on your 'GOOD'
I used to do a daily diary and the parents did'nt even look at it, so now i don't bother, have'nt done it in ages. I do talk to the parents in the morning and when l.o goes home.
How can you make the parents write something in it when half the time they don't even read it:rolleyes:
