Some parents!

Just had a call from a lady who wants me to have her 10 month old 2 days a week from tomorrow! lol! What is wrong with these people?

I said no of course. I have to work out if it will fit anyway and she only wants 3 or 4 hours a day but they run into the after school session. So If I take the child it would be using an under 5 place and an after school place up. Will have to work out what to charge.

Has she met you?

I'm not sure I'd leave an important decision that late!! :panic:

I had someone ring me last week, wanting me to start next day, I suppose it depends on peoples circumstances.
I did not have a space tho.

I had a call on a Friday from a mum who had just that minute had a successful interview. Her child (aged 3) had never been away from her and it was 5 days a week 8:30am - 6pm

He started on the Monday and he's still with me 1 year on.

May be they have been let down at the last minute by someone but you'd think they'd want to meet you a couple of times first and what about the contracts/paperwork? I'd never be able to get it all written up and ready in just a few hours!

My 18 month old mindees mum came to see me on the Tuesday and she started the following Monday. I offered her a couple of settling in sessions at the end of the week she came, but she declined. She settled in fine anyway.

my 2 year old was like that, mum phoned, came to look round the next day and left her here 1/2 an hour later! Quickest settling in I've ever done!

Mine did that, came round on the friday, signed contracts for start on the monday. She said she knew as soon as she met me that I was right for her LO's. Seems thats how some people decide. It's worked out well, sometimes you just have to go with it.
