A couple of weeks ago I e-mailed a variation request to Ofsted, this morning i had a phone call from them asking for specific details of the childrens hours. I thought I had included all relevant information in the request as the variation is only for 1 hour, 1 day a week, the lady on the phone wanted to know each childs hours for each day of the week. I'm now panicking in case someone rings me back to arrange an inspection, why would they want all of these details when they don't affect the variation request. I'm not due an inspection but have read that sometimes a request for a variation can trigger an inspection, has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar phone call when I asked for a variation a few years ago.
I'd included details of the children I'd have on the days for which I wanted a variation, but they wanted to know about all the children I had on my books.
It was all fine though & I got a new certificate through really quickly.

Ah ha, at least you know they are looking at your variation request.
Do you mind stating when you submitted your application. (I emailed one through on 25/9) and I haven't heard anything.
And I unfortunately are expecting my first inspection ... been registered 4.5m now :)

I actually only requested the variation last week on the 7th, I thought it had been longer but I've just checked my e-mails and it was the 7th, hope this means it will be approved soon as i need it for the 2nd November
