I think MM is £35 (or is it £30)? I pay for 2 of us so I'm not sure.
You have to be a member of Ncma to have their insurance - they are a charity as well as an insurance company while MM are an insurance company.
Both send out magazines (Ncma on paper, MM have 2 online) and both give you good insurance cover.
You can lapse your insurance if you are not working and pick up again when you are ready to start
Hth :D

MM do not mind what paperwork you use so long as it says the right things - payment terms etc:D
