Hello (waves)
What are you all doing for Harvest Festival? Are any of you making up hampers to take to a residential home for the elderly, or visiting a local OAP, or just doing activities with the children? Just looking for inspiration really. I'd like to visit someone needy (I remember doing this when I was at school...many moons ago now!) Not sure if people still do it.
Anyway, hope you're all having a great evening :D

I think I will do some coloring in from here
http://www.kidsweb.de/schule/kidsweb_spezial/ernte_dank_spezial/erntedank_mandala_auswahl.html
(there are ones without words..- as it is german - that you can use here too)
maybe harvest something from the garden..still have potatoes etc growing
bake some bread
and I might attemt this for decoration

to make salt dough just use 1 cup salt to 2 cups flour (or any multiplied qty) and with some water make a dough...you can also add food coloring to it
it can be baked in the oven at 150C for about 45 mins and you can then paint on it..
might also make potato-people

I remember making baskets up when we were children and have some lovely photos, but they don't seem to do it anymore and then its's mainly tins etc. Our local church does it I think?
We are making paper weaving baskets.
Stuck paper onto drawings of fruit (mainly the little ones)
played with tractors and hay
Going to make salt dough fruit
At 18mths my mindee isn't that bothered about craft, other than trying to eat everything including glue/paint etc so I tend to limit to at the moment. My own DD's 8,4,3 love it thought and my 4yr old just asked when she doesn't go to school can we do crafts  what is she doing in reception then?
