Ofsted now have a form you need to complete before they will make changes to your certificate.

You would ask for the form if, for example, you want a child taking off your numbers because they have started school.

They will send the form by either post or email... and you need to send it back with a signature (so scanned or by post).

They say that it will take between 4 to 6 weeks for them to re-issue your certificate.

Don't forget you cannot change your numbers until your new certificate is received and on display!

I hope that helps :D

Thank you Karen for the information xx

Their new systems are a pain in the ass.

They have new systems for everything and they don't work. I am off to moan about them today.

When I spoke to Ofsted a couple of days ago, about having 2 under 1's, I was told to take the child on (if mum wants me) and then to phone them back when my wife gives birth and ask for a variation due to continuity of care. Doesnt this go against what you have just said as I wont have a certifacte saying i cna have to under 1's ????

I've just spoken to ofsted and they just told me I don't need to fill in a form for my DD starting school. She doesnt' start for 2 weeks so I thought I would ask for the form now so I can have it ready but they said they will just change my certificate :)

   I really is daft that they need 4-6 weeks to produce a piece of paper. It should take a couple of days at most.

They sent me a form last night, with a mail saying 14 days, although I was told there is a back log at the moment so 6 weeks.

Also it states on the form and I was told over the phone there is no need for a signature if you are emailing it back you can print your name.

I received the new form for a variation (4 under 5s) and it says on the form that signatures are not required if emailed through.

Also, DS2 just turned 8, so no longer in my numbers. I did this all on the phone on his birthday last week.

I agree that I have to wait for my new cert before he is officially off my numbers.

Just testament how inconsistent Ofsted is and probably always will be :(

You are fine just now because you do not need a variation.

Once baby is born you need to apply for one because you will then have 2 children under 1.

Does that make sense? :D
