There are 13 weeks holiday for state schools - 6 weeks summer, 2 at christmas and easter and 3 x 1 week half terms. Also 5 INSET days a year which some schools add onto holidays. Public schools usually have more.

Don't forget to add the ist May Bank Holiday Monday and the Easter Bank Holiday weekend if it falls outside the first three weekends in April.

I work on 13, then charge extra if parents' need inset day cover. Also, have a parent starting who is at private school but told her term-time only is 39:13, as her school have longer holidays.
