x2 cups of coffee later and im still buzzing lol

so in this hour of glory i would like to thank,,

all forum members including the boss for making me a green member,
sarah for her knowledge of EYFS and all her advice,
all members for support and putting up with me at weekends when i was pulling my hair out over starting points and next steps/planning etc.

my family esp as ive given up smoking too,,,(2weeks!!!:) )
and the best network coordinator Carol Whiteside (DO) in Blackpool..
close childminder friends
ohhh its like being at the Oscars pmsl

sorry im on a high but wow,, i just kept showing everdence to back up my SEF and answered all her questions the best i could and she hit on the six areas of L&D quite a lot and general welfare issues,

how i observe and record information for each child and plan for individual learning,, well it was charlie's first day so i told her on my first observations i found out his starting points and looked to the practice guidance for future planning and the resources i have to help in each area of development etc.

big on diversity and my inclusion practice,,,

prox 15 days for my report to come through and im not sure if it covers my accreditation or not or if i need another inspection to cover that???

its all over and she said as an action to continue my profecional development.

thanks guys it realy is a fantastic feeling,,

ok well when she phoned this morning i told her that charlie has his first day with me today and that i only just returned from holiday and she offered to come back next week but i said NO your welcome to come today i can not plan or do any more preperations than i have so bring it on ;)

i showed how i helped charlie in his transitions and how to settle into my setting,,

if i couldn't display an area i wanted her to see or activities we have done in the past i showed pages from my scrap books as evidence..

the sef realy did help but she was still with me for 4hrs, and also asked the parent questions about me, (can not get outstanding with out a sef!!)

think how you deliver opportunities for children to learn in all 6 areas,(continual provision outings)
how you record observations and plan for each child.
adult led plans and activities and how you follow up to take the lead from the child.
diversity and your inclusion policy (equal ops)
display your certificates
pictures of different cultures inc the celebrations poster.
i use a small amount of sign language and told how we all enjoy Mr Tumble and some of my toy boy lables are also in sign:thumbsup: and different languages.
any actions from the last inspection.
outdoor provision and how to clean hands while out (bottle hand gel)
she asked questions about info i put into my sef and i backed everything up so no elabrations or stretched truths in our SEF,;)

my children were also very well behaved and for once i wasnt asked about my behavioural policy!

i talked all the time and excused myself to spend time with charlie and his needs, filling up his juice cup etc

to be honest it was the easiest inspection i have ever had and she was realy nice so i felt good about myself and my confidence went through the roof.

oh she did say how will i manage taking one child to the toilet and leaving any other children how do i manage?
i told her lets be sensible, my home is safer than most parents properties and i ensure there are no dangers, i use a play pen for very small children but feel confident to leave the room for short periods of time as i leave the stable doors open and stare gates are fixed so i can hear the children at all times. it only take a few moments to take a child to the toilet and i feel confident my home is safe to do so and less stress for the children taking them all to the bathroom unnecessarly. she was happy with that..

i just wish she had looked at my web site coz we can't add pictures to our SEF!!! oh and she thinks forums are a good way for childminders to exchange good working practice :D
