My Ofsted report is finally online (it's here if anyone would like a read of it) http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxcare_reports/display/(id)/246922

... and I was just wondering, I know we have to give it out to all of the parents of the children we care for now, but I have a new child who is starting next week. Do I have to give it to them too and all future children who start, or do we just show newbies the report in our portfolios at the initial meeting?

I only give a copy to new parents if they ask for it, other wise they usually scan throught the one in out portfolio.

I emailed all my parents with the link just like you have on here and if they want to look at it they can.

When seeing new parents you should offer the report for them to see and again I give my number so that they can look it up on the Ofsted site but of course they do not!

Debbie, I had a lady come round last week and before she left she asked me if she could have my registration number. At first I said no, as anyone can use it to fraudulenlty claim tax credits, but in the end i ended up giving it to her so she could look at my report online. Fingers crossed that it won't happen to me. Judging by the size of the diamond on her finger, I don't think they'd need help with tax credits anyway! It was HUGE!!!!

Good luck with that one.

I had a look at your report and you have 8 out of 11 outstandings but only got a good. Did the inspector say why you didn't get an outstanding?

I thought that too, not sure how that one works.

I noticed that as well, you deserve an outstanding with all those outstanding elements. What exactly is the cut off? I got 2 outstanding and therefore expected a good but if I had had 8 I would want a full outstanding.

I wondered that too but didn't question it. I assumed she knew what she was doing. Maybe you can't get an outstanding if you have a recommendation which I had (to make sure I record the children's next steps). I have got to write to Ofsted later to change my name to my married name, so perhaps I will ask them in the letter. Will let you all know the outcome. xxx.
