Hi

I had a missed call from Ofsted last week, asking me if I am child minding yet? I rang back but person wasn't available. So left a message. Do u think they are going to do my inspection soon????????????? Arrgh. Panic.

I have only been minding since may and thought i would have a few months to get into it.

My Childminding co-ordinater only came out friday and she was quite happy with my policies, risk assessments and scrapbooks I do with oberservations in. But I haven't started my SEF yet.

I am worried that they will not think I am good enough. a grade me as un satisfactory.

What will they ask???????

I remember receiving a call from Ofsted the 1st week I started minding. They just wanted to know if I was working and if so, what days and whether I had any under 5's on my books. The didn't actually come out to inspect me until 5 months later though.

However, best to be prepared just in case they do plan to come out to you quite soon. There's no point putting off the inevitable! My inspector was pleased with my SEF and I'm sure that the inspection was reasonably short (just under 2 hours) because of it. It is not compulsory to do the SEF but I would recommend doing it. As long as your policies and procedures are in place and your observations are up to date, you should be fine.
