HI THERE.. I HAVE POSTED THIS ON MEMBERS THREAD BUT THINK IT MAY B BETTER OFF HERE AS IS RELATES TO OFSTED... CAN ANYONE HELP???

I have just had a phone call from a Mum who has twins aged 4.5 who start full time ed in Sept.

Both my DD's are under 5. Lady needs childcare immediately as Nanny has walked out. I know the twins as they go to my DD playschool.

2 questions, how quickly can Ofsted give me a variation? I presume they would need to inspect, should I ring them? I have already asked for a change to registration so my garden can be registered (in another post!)

Sorry another question.. the girls are at playschool 5 days a week 9.30 to 12. I am presuming I will drop off and pick up... do you charge for time at playschool?

Sorry if this is garbled, but if you have seen another of my threads you will know just how good this could be for my family.

Thanks for your advice

I MAY BE JUMPING THE GUN A BIT AS THE PARENT HASN'T SAID SHE WANTS TO GO AHEAD YET... BUT SHE IS DESPERATE SO.... LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS LETTER TO OFSTED

Ofsted have a variation form you need to complete I think... best give them a call and check -

Hope it works out for you! :D

I'd definitely ring Ofsted and try and speak to the team leader who deals with variation requests for your area.

He/she may agree to look at the request quickly for you - you can fax through your variation request (they must have your signature) but I wouldn't start the process until the parent confirms she wants you

I phoned NCMA first thing and they said to ring Ofsted and they didn't think I would need to be inspected immediately.

Lady came at lunch time and wants me to have girls ASAP so I have called Ofsted and waiting for them to phone back. Chap on the phone said they would probably allow it while a formal variation was being applied for....

They are going to tell me what I have to do when they call back.

Fingers crossed x
