Not sure whether they will come tomorrow or Tues or wed. Have cleaned the house from top to bottom and made sure everything is safe. Have done risk assesment of my house, garden and for every outing we do. Observations are up to date. Paperwork is up to date. Online SEF completed although I can't remember what I wrote on there so will have to log in and read it again. Planning is going to be my downful as have not done any! Have done some planning for next couple of weeks and that will have to do. Think I will let the children have free play with maybe one craft set up. My own lo is complaining of a sore ear so I hope she is not coming down with something as that will be my worst nightmare, she plays me up at the best of times, never mind when she is poorly as well!

Is there anything I have missed?

good luck just remember to have the children signed in for the day
sign the inspector into the visitors book if you have one
ensure if they have a hot drink its well away from the children
have completed your daily risk assessment

Its just easy to forget the simpliest things when the inspector is here

RELAX and GOOD LUCK!

Good Luck. My mindee wasn't interested in my planned activity but the inspector was really pleased with the way I adapted to do what he wanted - so be prepared to go with the flow.

Sounds like you are sorted. Good tip about attendance register - I forgot to put the time in on mine because of nerves and the inspector noticed but she did see the rest of the register and that I am very thorough and chuckled that I do the time to the minute ie 8.51am etc!!

Don't worry too much (easy to say, I know) they are just doing their job too.

Remember hand-washing and individual towels etc etc and make sure you are up to date with procedures for sfaeguarding including what you would do if you suspected something.

Good luck you'll be fine!!

You sound like you will fly through it!!!! Mine is due this week and i am only half way through my sef! still got to sort out my paperwork!!!! Its gonna be one mad rush i can tell you. Wanted to be well organised like you..... But as always not done very well!

Do the registers have to be up to the minuite???? I have been doing what they do plus only add on if late!!!!

check id, sign in, hot drinks safe, handwashing, towels ... check.... um do you need written daily risk assesments? Obviously i don't have any! I do a common sense tour if you know what i mean?

Good luck for you inspection

Well Ofsted arrived on my doorstep this morning and my inspection went very well. My lo luckily is not poorly today and was in fact on top form this morning.

I got a 'Good' grade which I am delighted with.

Can't remember much of what was said to be honest but she made some good suggestions for my planning and linking in from all 6 areas of learning.

She did say my paperwork was great and that my SEF was also very good.

She was only here around 2 hours and I think I kept here that long because we kept chatting, poor woman probably desperate to leave!

It obviously goes without saying that alot of my success is down to this forum and all the great suggestions I read about so thank you to everyone on here.

Well done, :clapping: There is nothing quite like the feeling of shutting the door on them after a good inspection,;)
