I've written an e-book on it! It's on my website.

The best way is to focus on the person who helps you that the children want to do first... then think about what the children enjoy doing.

So if John likes dressing up, get the hat and do some role play; if Jane likes colouring, work out how to incorporate that into the chosen person's activities.

Then try and do a visit or at least a sighting of who you are doing about... and of course the library is a good place for more information.

We printed off pictures from some of the above websites and put them in a book

We then planned visits to some of the people - we managaed to get a teacher , dustman , postman , the nurse at our surgery, a fireman a policeman and a builder
We took photos and the older children asked questions

We also used role play

Use your imagination and let the children guide you and you will come up with heaps of ideas for this
