Im a new childminder from S Wales and was just wondering whether there are any start up grants available? So we can get some equiptment etc?

It depends on your area. Here you can get your insurance paid & tool kit (contracts etc), but that's it.

The WAG have now withdrawn funding for starting childminding. If you are lucky your local council still fund the ICP and NCMA bits and pieces. When I started the total grant was £430. £130 was for ICP and NCMA toolkit and the £300 was sent to me when I produced receipts for things I had bought. It was quite specific stuff I could buy though like H & S equip or multicultural resources. I would have thought as I am sure you are registered already that if this were available in your area you would have been told about it.
