Just received this from my NCMA adviser

I have had a message from a friendly Ofsted inspector that it would be worth reminding people who employ assistants or work with other childminders that they are very hot at the moment on checking that both/all have an understanding of policies & procedures, and also about children being left with assistants without permissions or of the 'wrong' age-group (childcare register requirements)

Other key inspection points at the moment:

Risk assessments must be written, reviewed regularly & cover activities, outings, home & anything else you can think of!
Observations & planning - initial assessment/starting point, and 'next steps' + ways to share info with/receive from parents & other carers
Diversity (still)
Healthy eating
Differences between CC Reg & EYR eg complaints, safeguarding, assistants

Hope this helps!

I would agree with that, also be reflective as much as possible. Do your SEF, reflect on courses attended, activities carried out ~ good and bad points and what you would do again. :D
