got an inspection Tuesday and i will have a 1 year and a 3 year old. Please could you advise me on the following

When feeding them the little one sits in a high chair and the big one sits on a booster seat, do Ofsted like to see me eating as well when feeding the little one at the same time? ( i usaully wait till they fall asleep)

When getting changing mat out he is the only one who uses it can i just wipe it with a baby wipe before and after and wash my hands before and after or do Ofsted like to see me seralize it infront of them first.

I do a school run at 11.30 and the little one falls to sleep in pushchair (have written letter for this) do i wake him up for his dinner when i feed the 3 year old or just wait till he wakes up himself then feed him (he hasn't been well)

any advise would be great thanks

Do what you always do, don't change for them. I didn't eat with my mindees during the inspection...i was too wound up to eat!

As for wiping the mat, do you normally, if so carry on if not don't bother if only 1 child uses it. (I have one mat per child anyway and wiped it with a baby wipe after a wet bum change whilst she was here as I would usually do).

I don't think it matters when you eat tbh but I do eat with the children to make it a social event and the children can see me eating healthy food too and we use the time to talk.(if they are old enough) As for the changing mat I would steralise the mat before use, I use Milton antibacterial wipes just give it the once over baby wipes will not kill germs! As for the slepping baby do what you normally do, you are meeting that childs individual needs if they need to sleep thay need to sleep especially if he has been unwell.
I have my inspection on monday I think hope it goes well

hi.. just had my inspection today.. and my inspector really liked that I took the lead of the children the whole time.. at one stage my own LO wanted to go into the shed to get his brothers bike.. (he's just 22 months).. and it would have been easy to say '.. yes thats right its a bike'.. but instead I got the bike out and he was fine.. didn't fall off (TG) ;) .. and I still went with the childrens interests.. do what you normally do.. and remember the kids will probably come up with exactly the right things to be doing on the day.. Good Luck!! and let us know how u got on xx

Good Luck. I would just do as you always do, so long as you are following the parents wishes.
