hi there.
this is probably the dumbest question ever asked but here it goes

can I claim tax credit for childcare if I care for my own child and am a registered cm?
after all if I would put dd to another cm I would get the money ?
also she is taking one place for under 5s so less income??

Hardly seems fair does it, when Nurseries can and we can't. Unless you sent your own child to a childminder friend and then claimed... but thats defeating the object isn't it?? Lol.

I didn't know that either! I've always thought, well, it does seem a bit cheeky to be paid for looking after your own child, but if nurserys can do it, then we should be able to as well!
