She only needs to complete her first aid if she is being left in sole charge. You need to get her registered by completing the EY2 form from the Ofsted website and send it to them and they will send the CRB details to her.
There is a whole section on Assistants in the main directory which gives lots of information.

THAT'S GREAT BECAUSE SHE WON'T BE LEFT IN SOLE CHARGE OF ANY MINDEES BUT IF I WANTED TO LOOK AFTER MORE CHILDREN THAN MY ALLOWANCE WILL SHE NEED TO DO THE CHILD MINDER COURSE TO GET AN ALLOWANCE? SORRY FOR ALL THE Q'S:D

I think you have to apply for more children, you don't automatically get the with an assistant. I don't know what the rules are on who get more and why but I guess space will play a part.

Even with 2 childminders registered for up to 12 children we can only childmind 6 children because of local planning regulations in Blackburn! They refuse to budge on this and I have been pulling my hair out for 7 years. Please don't get me going on this one.
