Still waiting on my inpsection - I seem to be the last in our area. CCO suggested to one of the Childminders belonging to our Group that she get a suggestion box! I have no more room for anything else connected with Childminding! My house is becoming a nursery! I had a Mum visit today with her 3 year old who will be coming for a couple of afternoons after the Summer and the little girl said "this is just like my playgroup". NO! NO! NO! its my home! I am the only one who feels like this? I realise I am running a business from my home but I sometimes feel that the C.C. forget that this is a family home too! Oooooh glad I have the day off tomorrow!

I so know how you feel. It seems to get worse every year as they bring out some thing even more rediculous for us to have in place.
i was told last year I was to arrange parents evenings to discuss the children when they werent here, she wasnt long in being told where to go. I work long enough hours without spending more time with the parents after work.
Apparently we are also supposed to have individual coat hooks for the kids with their names on so they know where to put the jackets. Hello! We work from home , we are not a nursery.
Im getting my inspection in a few weeks so im all ready for them this time with their silly stuff they want us to do.

One of the other CM's was told to put out questionnaires and she would be put up to grade to 5 but my friend said No! She explained that she had got written references from every parent which said what a fab job she was doing and refused to do questionnaires. The CCO even spoke to one of the parents who said they totally agreed and that the parents all led very hectic lives and the last thing they wanted to do was fill in questionnaires! The CCO gave her a 4! Can you believe it? I think mine will be next week she seems to phone on Monday to arrange inspection for the Thursday - my busiest day! I have done everything but the thing they are concentrating is on Parent Participation - in a big way apparently!
