no its not :panic: ,i'm sure this is ok when your on your own as you can hear the child and there are no dangers in the room but when ofsted are with you never leave a child alone or in the same room as the inspector ever, its just not worth it , hope it all goes well good luck xxx

sit the child at the bottom of the stairs or take up with you, dont leave a child with a stranger.

I left my inspector with 2 of my mindees when I popped upstairs to put one to bed and she was fine with it. I was only gone for a minute and could hear them chatting

When i had my inspection i left one mindee with the inspector while i put the other too bed, i had strapped the mindee into the high chair and said i always did this so i knew they were safe when i was going upstairs (mindee's are both 15 months old). Inspector didn't say anything and i got outstanding for my safeguarding!!

As your mindee is older i would sit her on the bottom step with a book or take her with you and let her help you, not that she could probably help with much but it will get her involved and i would think it would look better to the inspector then putting her in front of the telly.

I left my minded children in the room with the Ofsted inspector while I went to get snacks ready and there was no problem with it. I do actually have it in my policy that children can be left in the same room as another registered childminder, with a member of the local authority early years team or with an Ofsted inspector!
